Each Shakha has its own Samhita, Brahmana, Aranyaka, and Upanishad. According to Patanjali's Mahabhashya, there were originally 1131 Shakhas, so there were 1131 Brahmanas and 1131 Aranyakas. But most Shakhas are now lost.
