I dont know for sure, but i believe they can adjust the temp at which the fan comes on. Im thinking stock, fan hits at about 215f coolant temp, tuned seems like it kicks on at 200f. Even pre-EGR motors shouldn't be considered over heating at 220 degrees. We had a London Aire with the C series engine and on long grades on a hot day it would go up to 220. It's NOT good,.. but it's normal. 220 is while climbing a grade though & the engine fan usually kicks on at 205 or so. Whenever I see it approaching 200 I flip the manual fan switch on though. I don't like seeing it get over 200.
